Alexandra Maria Lara has been a Romanian/German television and film actress for over a decade. Alexandra is known for the roles she played on Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The actress was born as the sole son of Romanian film actor Valentin Platareanu. When she was 16 she portrayed the lead character in various TV dramas. In the Oscar nominated film Downfall her character as the Secretary Traudljunge of Adolf Hitler was also critically acclaimed. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Alexandra's work has led her to participate in several important national and international projects. A few of them include the British biographical documentary Control, Greek drama film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
